Scott A. Bowler, MS
Scott graduated from Oakland University with a BS in Biology in 2015. During this time, Scott worked in the Tiegs’ Aquatic Ecology laboratory researching the environmental impact of engineered shorelines on the Great Lakes. Following graduation, Scott relocated to Honolulu Hawaii and supervised the Blood Processing Lab for the Hawaii Center for AIDS. His work within HIV encouraged Scott to continue his educational career and graduated from the University of Hawaii in December 2020 with a MS in Biomedical Sciences with a focus on Tropical Medicine while under the mentorship of Dr. Ndhlovu. Following graduation, Scott pursued training in Bioinformatics with the University of Hawaii Bioinformatics Core where his research focused on neoantigen identification within a pan cancer cohort.
Research Interest: Computational biology, genomics & genetics, autoimmunity, machine learning
Awards/Accolades:
-
Pacific Island Partnership for Cancer Health Equity Graduate Research Fellow 2021
Fun Fact: Scott knows five languages: C++, Java, Perl, Python, and English. But is possibly weakest in English.
